The 7th Fujian Technology and Projects Fair 2009 was a great success  The 2009 fair brought together more than 5,000 enterprises and an attendance of approximately 70,000 business visitors. A total of 2,723 projects were handled, representing an increase of 33.2% over the previous year. Signed contracts numbered 1,167 totaling RMB 19.241 billion, which is a rise of 134% and 113% respectively over the previous year.There were particular gains made in technology-related projects attracting large-scale investment. The successful negotiation of 2,963 technology projects was realized and 575 technology-based requirements were matched between interested parties. The agreed technology cooperation focused on the three backbone industries (like petrochemical, electronics & information, machinery) and emerging industry.  The Exhibition Hall for Overseas Institutions of Higher Learning and Enterprises of the 7th FTPF in 2009 covered an area of 300㎡, with 24 booths for 51 exhibitors. Projects showcased totaled 49, presented by 34 scientific research institutes and celebrated enterprises from 11 countries, such as the US, Canada, Japan, the EU (including the UK,Netherlands, Spain), Singapore,etc. During the last event, Chinese institutions and enterprises made 300 inquiries about the projects, and reached agreements of cooperation on 8 projects.
