Fujian Province is situated on the southeastern coast of China and west coast of the Taiwan Straits. It has a population of 34.66 million and covers a land area of 121,400 square kilometers.
Fujian has mild and subtropical oceanic monsoon climate. With an annual average temperature between 17°C and 21°C and annual precipitation between 1,400 mm and 2,000 mm, Fujian is greenish all year round with plenty of rainfall.

There are nine municipalities under its jurisdiction namely Fuzhou, Xiamen, Zhangzhou, Quanzhou, Putian, Sanming, Nanping, Ningde and Longyan with Fuzhou being the provincial capital.
